Background
In Advanced Design and Manufacturing, I was tasked with designing an easy-to-hold, non-threatening cystoscope. The steps I took in this process included:
Key Features
- Securely mounts and protects widget (optical engine)
- Easy to connect in-out water connection via luer-locks
- Valves to control in and outflow
- Accommodates 24F sheath, 20cm in length
- Suits left or right hand use
- Includes electrical connection and internal water pipes
- Dual-grip and desiged for human scale

Medical Image Reconstruction
I used Slicer to visualize and excise a 3D STL of the mitral valve from the heart. Then, I designed a sewing ring that fits into the mitral cavity and can be used to insert an artifical valve.
Sheet Metal Design
I used Sheet Metal in Fusion360 to create a holder for the widget (optical engine) that sits inside the cystoscope.
